JOAN VAUGHN

Joan Vaughn, 69, of Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

She was born Sept. 2, 1931, at Sikeston, Mo., daughter of Ernest and Lena Elizabeth Murphy Mize. She and Donald Eugene Vaughn were married July 4, 1952, in Hernando, Miss.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Donald "Sonny" Vaughn of Houston; two brothers, Charlie and Tom Mize of Athens, Ga.; a sister, Lois Rose of Jackson, Mo.; two grandchildren, Cliff and Haley Vaughn of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Poston will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
