JOAN STEARNES

SIKESTON -- Funeral for Joan Stearnes of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church. Dr. Jim Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Stearnes, 63, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at her home.

She was born Feb. 5, 1936, in Sikeston, daughter of Leland and Nella McMullin Hill. She and Robert Stearnes were married June 24, 1956.

Stearnes had worked at Stearnes and Associates since it opened in 1982. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, C. David Stearnes of Houston, Texas, Robert Stearnes of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
