Joan Catherine Lipps, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1942, in London, England, to Robert and Margaret Smith Clyne. Joan Catherine Lipps, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 21, 1942, in London to Robert and Margaret Smith Clyne.

Joan worked as office manager at Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. She was an avid gardener and loved watching QVC.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Don) Coltrain of Ballwin, Mo.; a son, Kevin Lipps of Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Jennifer (Neil) Finney of England; two grandsons, Sean Coltrain and Brian Coltrain (fiancee Meaghan); a great-grandchild on the way; and a lifelong friend, Heidi Finger of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Lipps; and a brother, Robert Clyne.

A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
