Jo Frances Hamby, 62, 1630 Oak Hills, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 30, 1930, at Steele, daughter of Joseph R. and Beva L. Talkington Neeley. She and James H. Hamby were married June 9, 1953, at Caruthersville. He died Nov. 8, 1986.
Hamby was a 1953 graduate of the University of Missouri. She was employed 25 years at Kent Library at Southeast Missouri State University.
Survivors include a son, James R. Hamby of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Kim Loper of Raleigh, N.C.; her mother of Caruthersville, and a sister, Lois Tomita of Newburgh, N.Y.
Private graveside service will be held at Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today, and at Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
