PUXICO -- Funeral for Jo Ann Snider Shelton of Puxico will be held at 2 p.m. today at Life Chapel Assembly of God Church. Dr. Jack Montgomery and the Rev. Dan Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in Puxico City Cemetery.
Morgan Sifford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Shelton, 65, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 21, 1933, at Poplar Bluff, daughter of Woodrow and Norma Snider. She and Howard Shelton were married Jan. 26, 1952.
Shelton was a 1951 graduate of Puxico High School, and received a master's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University.
She was a teacher more than 30 years at Puxico Elementary School, and was currently a Mary Kay consultant.
Shelton was a member of Life Chapel Church, a Sunday School teacher, and was a volunteer Bible reader at local nursing homes for many years. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, Missouri State Teachers Association and Community Teachers Association. She was also involved with community projects.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Stephen Shelton of Sikeston, Mike Shelton of St. Louis; a daughter, Jo Taylor of Puxico; a sister, Ruth George of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dr. Fred Snider of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.
