WYATT -- Funeral for J.L. Summers of Wyatt will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Revs. Bill Meeks and Walter Bryars will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Summers, 66, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at Charleston Manor.
He was born Aug. 15, 1931, in East Prairie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lee Summers. He and Delores Pitts were married in 1976.
A lifelong resident of Mississippi County, Summers was a retired farmer. He was a member of First General Baptist Church at Charleston.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Garland Summers of Bertrand, Robert Summers of Chaffee; two daughters, Nancy Tacosik of Pinckneyville, Ill., Martha Summers of Bertrand; a stepson, Jack Barnhill of Viburnum; a sister, Helen Summers, address unknown; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
