Jimmy Ray "Pee Wee" Musgraves, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 6, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Advance, Missouri, to Amos and Mary Helen Tropf Musgraves. He and Barbara Anne Horner were married June 3, 1956, at Bloomfield, Missouri.

Pee Wee served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of both the National Rifle Association and American Legion Post 63, and was a charter member of La Croix United Methodist Church. He was also a member of VFW Post 3838.

He retired from Harris Truck and Trailer after 36 years of service, and was an auxiliary policeman over 20 years in Cape Girardeau. He also had been custodian at St. Vincent De Paul School.

Survivors include two daughters, Tennie (Tommy) Kallial of Arnold, Missouri, and Cindy (Roger) Ryan of Fenton, Missouri; three brothers, Darrell Musgraves of Mineola, Texas, Bill Musgraves of Pacific, Missouri, and Jerry Musgraves of Van Buren, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Blake (Marcie) Ryan, Ashley Rust, Brittany Williams, Tanner (Shannon) Rust and Baily (Eric) Lundstrom; and five great-grandchildren, Evan, William, Elisabeth, Dakota and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Barbara Anne Musgraves.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors by the Missouri Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to La Croix United Methodist Church in memory of Jimmy Musgraves.
