Jimmy Miller

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Jimmy D. Miller, 70, of Mounds died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born March 21, 1937, in Mounds, son of Ray and Nota Edwards Miller. He married Brigitte Martha Beck.

Miller retired as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Pulaski County Memorial VFW Post 8891.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Lang of Villa Ridge, Ill.; a son, Scott Miller of Vienna, Ill.; a sister, Mildred Powers of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Ray Miller of Villa Ridge.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with James Pierceall officiating. Burial will be in U.S. National Cemetery, with full military honors by VFW Post 8891 of Mounds, Cairo VFW Post 2649, and Louis Phares American Legion Post 178 of Villa Ridge.
