BENTON -- Funeral service for Jimmy Joe Fowler of Benton will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. David Pringle will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.
Fowler, 36, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1960, in St. Louis, son of A.J. and Dorothy Newlin Fowler. He and Cathy Johnson were married March 21, 1990, at Jackson.
Fowler was a millwright with Local 1770 in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joshua Fowler of Benton; a stepson, Jimmy Johnson of Benton; his parents of Scott City; two brothers, John Fowler of San Diego, Calif., Jerry Fowler of Scott City; five half sisters, Peggy Daniels and Jane Kelly of Scott City, Donna Williams of Crump, Barbara Fisher of Cape Girardeau, and Jeffrey Fowler of Delta.
He was preceded in death by a son and brother.
