Jimmie Dale Myers, son of the late Edgar “Beck” Myers and Zalma Marie Schmidt, was born April 7, 1941, at Oak Ridge and departed his life Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his home in Rockview at the age of 82 years.

He was a self-employed farmer for more than 30 years, a former employee of 5-H Ranch in Jackson and a 12-year employee of Blair Industry. He was a veteran of the National Guard, trained as a sharpshooter. He was also an avid deer hunter and enjoyed wearing camouflage.

He was first united in marriage to Linda H. Mouser, and to this union three children were born. In March 1983, he was united in marriage to Rose Ella White in Rockview. She survives of the home.

Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Stephen (Dana) Myers of Marquand; two daughters, Becky (Mark) Schwartz of Cape Girardeau County and Angela Kay Griffith of Bollinger County; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a stepson, Jason Weaver of Chaffee; and two sisters, Barbara (Bill) King of Oak Ridge and Cathy Jo Dement of Dexter.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Myers; two grandsons, Cody Myers and Wade Myers; and one nephew, Allen Sharrock.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Interment will follow in Old Goshen Cemetery near Oak Ridge.
