JONESBORO, Ill. -- Jimmie L. Gardner, 66, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Jonesboro, son of Wendel W. and Wanda Sauerbrunn Gardner. He married Scheron Rider June 29, 1974, at Jonesboro.
Gardner was an employee of the city of Jonesboro for 33 years. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sheila Houseman of Jonesboro; a brother, Charles Gardner of Anna, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a nephew.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Paul Sadler will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
