SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jimmie Edmondson, son of the late Jimmy and Mamie Edmondson, was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Sikeston and departed this life Monday, March 1, 2021, in Sikeston at the age of 94 years.

Jimmie was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Sikeston First Baptist Church.

On June 13, 1948, he was united in marriage to Ada Mae Snider. She preceded him in death June 20, 2020.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy C. (Janet) Edmondson of Oran, Missouri; daughter, Susan (Ron) Watkins of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Dr. Cami Watkins, Miranda Wilheit, Rebecca Parker, Letha Bartels and Cari Mercurio; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Dylan Sparks; a sister, Dixie Wilson; and a brother, Bill Edmondson.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral service with then be conducted at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mitchell Jackson officiating.

Interment with full military honors will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
