CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Graveside service for Jimmie J. Chandler of Charleston will be held at 2 p.m. today at IOOF Cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate.
McMikle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Chandler, 64, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Charleston Manor.
He was born April 30, 1938, in Caraway, Ark., son of Joel C. and Ernestine House Chandler. He and Rosella "Rosie" Scheffer were married Dec. 31, 1960.
Chandler was a mail carrier 15 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Charleston, retiring in 1996 because of ill health.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmie Chandler Jr. of Sikeston, Mo.; a daughter, Angel Schwieger of Charleston; his mother of Bertrand, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Ezzell of Bertrand, Beverly Stark of Charleston; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
