SIKESTON -- Funeral for James M. "Jim" Young of Sikeston will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Ralph Marshall and Victor Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Blodgett Cemetery at Blodgett.

Friends may call at the chapel from 9 a.m. until service time.

Young, 52, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, at his home.

He was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, son of Mac and Margie Doty Young. He and Ann M. Ford were married July 20, 1979, at Morehouse.

Young was a truck driver with Ferrell Excavating Co. 11 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-70.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melissa Haley and Shona Oakes of Sikeston; three brothers, Mac Ruffin of Wood River, Ill., Dennis Young of Brunswick, Ga., David Young of Sikeston; a sister, Cindy Nance of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
