Jim D. Shrum, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.
He was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Bollinger County, Missouri, to Jesse E. and Frances Black Shrum.
He and Ann Renner were married Aug. 22, 1959, at St. Joseph's Church in Apple Creek, Missouri.
Jim served in the Army from 1957 to 1959.
He and Ann have lived in Cape Girardeau since 1959.
He worked for Manhattan Distributing for more than 40 years as a warehouse manager and salesman.
He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Shrum of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Kathy (Dan) Keusenkothen and Kara Shrum of St. Louis; two sons, Rick Shrum of Texas and Chris (Sherri) Shrum of Cape Girardeau; brother, Sam Shrum of Jackson; sister, Jean Gilliland of Jackson; 12 grandchildren, John and Joseph Keusenkothen, Jenna (Stephen, III) Bonazinca, Katie Shrum, Ali
(Anthony) Grasso, Michael, Eric, Sean, and Sam Keusenkothen and Kristen, Natalie and Emily Shrum; great-grandchildren, Addy Bonazinca and S.J. Bonazinca IV; brothers-in-law, Francis Urhahn of Oran, Missouri, and Virgil Hammer of Festus, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Mabel Shrum of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clyde, Bill and Jake Shrum; and four sisters, Arcella Korzen, Katherine Hammer, Lola Urhahn and Joyce Baker.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.
Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Military rites will be provided by Missouri Honors Team.
