SIKESTON -- Arnold D. (Jim) Johnson, 77, of Vanduser, died Saturday May 28, 1994 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 25, 1917 in Mississippi County Arkansas, the son of Tull G. and Lucy Arnold Johnson. On Aug 2, 1939 he married Mildred Bernice Weaks, who survives.

He was a retired self employed farmer, a member of the Vanduser Baptist Church, and a World War II veteran.

Surviving besides his wife are: one son, Jim Johnson of Vanduser; two daughters, Donna Taylor of Morley and Joyce Bernhard of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Jacquelin Green and Thelma Black of Sikeston; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Lawrence Ray officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Hills Cemetery at Morley.
