JONESBORO, Ill. -- Funeral for James A. "Jim" Dexter of Jonesboro will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Dexter, 62, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Burton, Mich., son of Roy "Brownie" and Dorothy Maude McCleod Dexter. He and Helen Fern Frick were married June 14, 1963.
Dexter was a 1956 graduate of Ullin High School. He served three years in Germany with the U.S. Army.
He was a certified electrical journeyman with Local 702 in West Frankfort, Ill., the past 35 years. He was a trustee 30 years for NECA-IBEW Pension Trust Fund.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa Freeman of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Jerry Dexter of Montgomery, Ill., Ronald Dexter of Hawaii, Richard Dexter of Dongola, Ill.; a sister, Karen Snell of Marion, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
