Jewell B. Porter, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born March 28, 1911, at Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of Luther and Roba Bollinger Proffer. She first married William L. Strop July 18, 1931, in Cape Girardeau. She later married Leonard Porter Sept. 16, 1965, in St. Louis.
Porter had been a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of New Life Fellowship.
Survivors include two daughters, Thyra Messmer of Jackson, Nancy Howard of Scott City; three sons, Rodney Strop of Germantown, Tenn., Jimmie Strop of Cape Girardeau, William Strop Jr. of Pierson, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
