Jewell L. Martin, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born March 25, 1918, at Whitewater to Elijah Bevin and Etta Mae Huffman Lear. She and James W. Martin were married in 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jewell spent much of her life in Tennessee and worked at Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. She moved back to Cape Girardeau in the early 1980s and lived here until her death.
Survivors include a son, James W. Martin of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from noon until service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Al Flohr officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
