SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Jewell Katherine James, 94, of Sedgewickville passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
She was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Leachville, Arkansas, daughter of William Houston and Louisa Pearl Metcalf Russell. She and Norman Jesse James were united in marriage Feb. 4, 1956, and he passed away Dec. 6, 1986.
Jewell was a homemaker, a member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her sons, William Hicks of Granite City, Illinois, Jerald Hicks of Imperial, Missouri, and Darrell James of Barnhart, Missouri; daughter, Lisa Fadler of Sedgewickville; nine grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Norman; son, Norman Kent; three brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Cary and Pastor Jamie Hahs officiating. Interment will follow in the Sedgewickville Cemetery in Sedgewickville.
