Funeral service for Jewell Bernard Clark, 2564 Ranchito, will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Charles Grant will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and at the church from 1 until service time.
Clark, 80, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1911, at Chaffee, son of Willie and Florence L. Hicks Clark. He and Freda A. Hersinger were married Feb. 16, 1935, at Benton.
Clark was office manager at Rhea Optical Co., where he had worked since July 1953. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a sergeant T4 at the time of discharge.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church 63 years, where he had been secretary and treasurer, elder, and Sunday School teacher.
Clark was past master of St. Mark Lodge 93, past high priest of Wilson chapter 75, past illustrious master of Cape Council 20, past commander of Cape Commandry 55, and past grand commander of Missouri.
Other offices include past puessent sovereign of Red Cross of Constantine, past watchman of shepherds of White Shrine of Jerusalem, past royal patron of Cape Court Order of Amaranth, and past pastor of St. Mark Order of Eastern Star 167.
Clark was a member of Royal Arch of Knight Templar Priests, Moolah Temple in St. Louis, High Twelve Club 548, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, received Knights York Cross of Honor, and allied Masonic degrees.
Survivors include his wife; a niece Jean Blechle of Cape Girardeau; a nephew, Glenwood Blechle of Sulfur Springs, Texas; an aunt, Bernice Stewart of Charleston; great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
