Jewel Ross, 86, of Chaffee, Mo., died July 22, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Whitewater, daughter of George Burrette and Annie Matilda McCormick Kinder. She and Erbin V. Ross were married Jan. 14, 1936. He died May 20, 1993.
She was a retired machine operator for the Buckstein Pants Factory and then Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee. She moved to Cape Girardeau from Allenville, Mo., in 1981. Ross was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Delta. She was in the Chaffee Chapter of Scott County RSVP0 and a Nutrition Center volunteer for 23 years in Chaffee.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Ross and Ted Ross, both of Allenville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Dan Baggett officiating. Burial will be at Barks Chapel in Crump, Mo.
