PATTON -- Jewel E. Martin, 76, of Patton died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, at Flat River, son of Leona and Effie Henson Martin. He and Mary Louise Yount were married June 24, 1949. She survives.
He was a machinist for McDonnell Douglas before retiring. He was a six-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in combat in the South Pacific during World War II.
Other survivors include a son, Victor Martin of Bonne Terre; a brother, Charles Martin of Marble Hill; a sister, Lou Propst of Farmington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. W.D. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.
VFW Post 5900 of Marble Hill will hold military rites.
