PUXICO -- Jewel "Cotton" Kitchen, 72, of Puxico, died Thursday, May 25, 1995, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born June 6, 1922, at Kennett, son of Emerson and Bertha Akers Kitchen.

Kitchen was a retired plumber. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Gary Kitchen of Dexter; two daughters, Karla West of Montgomery City, Sherry McCain of Advance; a brother, Ruben Kitchen of Puxico; four sisters, Mary Hancock of Puxico, Billie Hargrave of Livonia, Mich., Betty Parks of Maplewood, Marvin Beaudean of Sikeston, and six grandchildren.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 7 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Marshall Link officiating. Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
