CAIRO, Ill. -- Jewel Honey, 95, of Tamms, Ill., died at 12:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo. She was born Oct. 4, 1914, at Delta, Ill., the daughter of Samuel Harrison and Pearl Melissa Allen Phillips. She and Earl Honey were married on Jan. 27, 1934. He preceded her in death Aug. 19, 2000...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Jewel Honey, 95, of Tamms, Ill., died at 12:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.

She was born Oct. 4, 1914, at Delta, Ill., the daughter of Samuel Harrison and Pearl Melissa Allen Phillips. She and Earl Honey were married on Jan. 27, 1934. He preceded her in death Aug. 19, 2000.

She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Douglas Honey of Tamms; Darrell Honey of Pittsburg, Ill.; Glenn Honey of Mounds, Ill.; Gary and Terry Honey, both of Tamms; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Vick and Pauline Vick, both of Tamms; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation for Jewel Honey will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Interment will be in McCrite Cemetery at Tamms.
