JETTIE JONES

EAST PRAIRIE -- Jettie B. Jones, 75, of East Prairie died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born April 3, 1924, in Joiner, Ark., son of Freddie and Erma Lee Douglass Jones. He and Catherine Williams were married April 29, 1944, in Joiner.

Jones was a member of Opportunity Church of God in Christ at Charleston.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Freddie Jones of East Prairie, Willie Jones of Harvey, Ill.; three daughters, Ernestine Johnson of Matteson, Ill., Mary Johnson of Chicago Heights, Ill., Geraldine Jones of Blue Island, Ill.; a brother, James Clark of Chicago; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Opportunity Church after noon Friday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with Steve Betts and Clifton Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
