Jessie Leone Maxwell, 97, of House Springs, Mo., died Friday, March 9, 2007, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1909, in Orleans, Neb., daughter of Henry C. and Leone Achenbach Fairchild. She and Lloyd C. Maxwell were married May 21, 1937, in Portageville, Mo.
Maxwell attended the former College Grade School and High School, and Southeast Missouri State University, all in Cape Girardeau.
She taught music in Missouri schools at Senath, Vanduser, Caruth, Hornersville and House Springs. She was active in numerous professional organizations and was a Girl Scout leader many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha Maxwell of High Ridge, Sue Roberts of Houston and Marjorie Maxwell of Marlborough, Mo.
The funeral was held Monday at McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, with the Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett, Mo.
