Jessie Green

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jessie Green, 96, of Sikeston died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 26, 1910, in Pocahontas, Ark., daughter of Isaac Elvie and Josie Davidson Marlett. She and Harl Green were married Dec. 20, 1933. He died March 15, 1986.

Green had owned and operated Green's Grocery in Sikeston and Salcedo before retiring. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Schwab of Shreveport, La., Donna Morris of Sikeston; a sister, Iola Grissom of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, a brother and a sister.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
