Jesse D. Williams, 81, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Paragould, Arkansas, son of Robert and Willowdean Rogers Williams. He and Delpha Rogers were married April 7, 1956, in Flint, Michigan.

Jesse lived in San Diego, moved to Bloomfield, Missouri, in 1959, and in Cape Girardeau and Jackson the past several years.

He was an area sales manager with Ortho Mattress and a member of American Legion.

Jesse was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Delpha Williams of Jackson; a son, Brian Williams of St. Louis; two daughters, Shelia Williams of Marquand, Missouri, Gail Ann Pierce of Canalou, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Williams of Florida, Robert Sherwin-Williams of Harrison, Michigan, and Dale Williams of Crescent City, California.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brooke Williams; and two brothers, Royce and Jerry Williams.

Friends may visit after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with Tim Griffin of Dexter officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Pediatric Cancer Ward at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, 1465 S. Grand Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63104-1095.
