SIKESTON, Mo. -- Jesse Whittley Jr., 52, of Sikeston died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Sikeston, son of Jesse and Glenda Kirby Whittley Sr. He and Sharon Griffin were married Aug. 10, 1973, at Benton, Mo.
Whittley was owner and operator of J.R. Whittley Trucking Co.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Timothy Taylor of Sikeston; a daughter, Tracy Whittley of Sikeston; his mother of Sikeston; a brother, Benny Cook of Oran, Mo.; five sisters, Gene Emerson, Louise Coatney and Terrye Mitchell, all of Sikeston, Sue Webb of Anna, Ill., Sheila Russell of Waco, Texas; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard.
