SIKESTON -- Jesse Lee McGee, 73, of Sikeston died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Florence, Ala., son of William Harim and Sarah Ellen Burges McGee. He and Halene Barbre were married Oct. 26, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.
McGee was a self-employed truck driver, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, and was a member of the National Guard five years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary McGee of Sikeston; a daughter, Sandy Couch of Sikeston; two brothers, Johnny McGee of Rocky Ridge Ranch, Leonard McGee of St. Louis; a sister, Esther Nanney of Sikeston; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
