MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral service for Mr. Jesse L. Reeves of rural Mounds, Ill. will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cairo, Ill. Church of Christ.

The Rev. John Shelton will officiate, and burial will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, Ill.

Mr. Reeves died Thursday at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was 76.

He was born Sept. 25, 1914 at East Prairie, the son of the late James and Julie Boyd Reeves.

On May 6, 1950, he married the former Wela Bolen Carr at Paragould, Ark. She survives of Mounds.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Cairo and the senior citizens' Smiles One program in Mounds. He was retired from the Valley Steel Co. in January 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Jean Eddleman of Mounds; a son, Joel Carr of Mounds; a brother J. B. Reeves of Boonville, Ind; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Cairo. Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
