SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Jesse Lee Brown of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Guffie will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Brown, 72, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1992, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Batesville, Miss., son of Emmet and Letha Mixon Brown. He and Nell Holley were married June 30, 1961.
Brown was a representative with Bromley and Donnelson Steel Co. until retiring. After moving to Sikeston he was a self-employed contractor, and had been employed by Sikeston Regional Children's Service.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Memphis, American Legion Post 114 and Eagles Lodge in Sikeston. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Brown of Sikeston; three brothers, Brooks Brown of Memphis, Robert and Calvin Brown of Collierville, Tenn.; four sisters, Juanita Zorzoli of Memphis, Wilma Russum of Collierville, Rebecca Few and Judy Hare of Water Valley, Miss., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
