He was born Oct. 9, 1951, in Kennett, Missouri, to Joseph and Demova Wolsey. He and Debra Wolsey were married Aug. 2, 1975.
Jerry was a devoted law-enforcement officer. He was a proud supporter of Chaffee Red Devil athletics and Southeast Missouri State University athletics, where his son Jerry played baseball and his son Jimmy ran track. His love for auto racing was second to none, as every Sunday you could find him watching NASCAR and every May tuning into the Indianapolis 500. He had many friends in the racing community all across the country.
He was very proud of his two boys for following in his footsteps in law enforcement (Jimmy), and (Jerry) in the private security and private investigations industry. He loved his wife Debra dearly and he knew she was the rock that held things together through their 40 years of marriage. He was a devoted Papa to Avery and never missed a ball practice, game, or school function.
Jerry graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1970. He was a 1975 graduate of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Police Academy and a 1979 graduate of the National Traffic Management Institute.
