Jerry D. Thomure, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born July 15, 1942, in East Prairie, Mo., son of the Rev. Arnold and Alma Mae Simmons Thomure. He and Alice Clark were married May 26, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.
Thomure owned and operated Jerry Thomure Trucking Co.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry A. Thomure of Leawood, Kan.; three daughters, Deborah Evans of Scott City, Mo., Sherry Berghoff of Kelso, Mo., Jennifer Colbert of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Cape Girardeau; a brother, James Thomure of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Mazie Rushing of Mayfield, Ky., Janie Meir of Friedheim, Mo., Darlene Ferguson of Springdale, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobby Mouser officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
