Jerry Lunsford, 64, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews, Missouri.
His mother, Geraldine Lunsford-Laramore, preceded him in death early that morning at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 5, 1951, in Anna, Illinois, to Ernest M. and Geraldine King Lunsford. He attended Jackson High School.
Jerry entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 11, 1968. While in the Army, he earned his GED and served overseas in Korea. He was honorably discharged Feb. 3, 1971.
Upon returning home, he worked at the former Lenco in Jackson and was employed there until he had an aneurysm at age 23.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Ann; six siblings, Nelson (the late Gracie) King, Brenda (the late Gary) Sides, Kathryn "Sue" (Mike) Stinson, Doris "June" Collier, Ricky (Judy) Lunsford and Debra (the late Wes) Kinder, all of Jackson; four stepsiblings, David E. (Annette) Laramore and Michael T. Laramore, both of Red Bud, Illinois, Dixie (Bernie) Clayton of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Joyce Ann (Jim) Hundley of Waterloo, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lunsford; stepfather, Edward "Dick" Laramore; a brother, Toney Lunsford in 1994; and a nephew, Brian Sides in 2002.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.
