Jerry Lee Thorne, 58, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Aug. 12, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 22, 1936, at Burfordville, to Herbert and Iva Allen Thorne.
On Oct. 29, 1956, he married Margaret Brown. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Rick Thorne of Fenton, and Steve Thorne of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Yvonne Howard and Chris Thorne, both of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Robert Thorne of Panama City, Fla.; three sisters, Jolene Green of Gordonville, Ela Mae Beard of Jackson, and Joyce Uhels of St. Louis. His mother, Iva, also survives of the home in Jackson.
He was preceded in death by two sons.
Thorne worked for the McDonnell Douglas Company in St. Louis for 15 years, and the Bunny Bread Bakery, from 1970 to 1985, when he retired because of ill health. In 1992, he moved from Millersville to Cape Girardeau.
Thorne was of the Baptist faith.
Friends may call fromn 4-8 p.m., today, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Wayne Alvey officiating.
Burial will be in the Morgan Memorial Cemetery near Advance.
