Jerry Lee Farrar, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Perry County, Missouri, to Norman Farrar and Fredia Hall. Jerry Lee Farrar, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at his home.

He was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Perry County, Missouri, to Norman Farrar and Fredia Hall.

Jerry graduated in 1965 from Oak Ridge High School. He worked for Southeast Missouri State University for 34 years and drove the Southeast bus for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his son, Richard Farrar of Sikeston, Missouri; sisters, Terri Harris, Trish Newbern, Dianna Farrar and Lisa Payne of Cape Girardeau, Mellisa Simon of Memphis, Tennessee, Glenda Williams of Cape Girardeau, Aletha Nilssen of Oak Ridge, Christine Davis of Jackson and Doris Allmon of Black Jack, Missouri; brothers, Raymond Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, Howard Sides of Battle Creek, Michigan, Norman Farrar Jr. of Atlanta, Alfred Farrar and Delbert Hall of Cape Girardeau, Wayne Hall of Oak Ridge and Lonnie Hall of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Jerry Lee was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Farrar; stepfather, Silver Hall; three sisters, Geneva McDaniels, Evelyn Hall and Sheila Hall; and brother, Wesley Hall.

The family will host a memorial celebration at noon March 5 at Arena Park. The family requests that masks be worn.

Interment will be held at a later date at Wilson Cemetery in Oak Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wilson Cemetery at 208 Marlin Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
