Jerry Lee Cady, 50, of Freeport, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at his home. He was born Dec. 24, 1952, in Imperial, Neb., son of Virgel and Lila Fuqua Cady. He and Cathy Sixt were married in 1975. Jerry Lee Cady, 50, of Freeport, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at his home.

He was born Dec. 24, 1952, in Imperial, Neb., son of Virgel and Lila Fuqua Cady. He and Cathy Sixt were married in 1975.

Cady was a 1971 graduate of Chase County High School, and received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration and economics from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, in 1975.

He had worked at J.C. Penney stores in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kansas City, Mo., Cape Girardeau, and most recently as store manager in Freeport.

Cady was a lay minister at Community of Christ Church, and was involved in numerous community organizations and charities.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff Cady of Freeport; a daughter, Megan Graham of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Grain Valley, Mo.; two brothers, Jim and Jack Cady of Blue Springs, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Community of Christ Church in Rockford, Ill., with Gary Elrod, Brad Peele and Larry Davenport officiating.

Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport is in charge of arrangements.
