OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Jerry Bridges, 65, of Olive Branch died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Tamms, Ill., son of William Lloyd and Edna Mae Bracken Bridges. He and Elizabeth Medearis were married Nov. 3, 2005...

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Jerry Bridges, 65, of Olive Branch died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Tamms, Ill., son of William Lloyd and Edna Mae Bracken Bridges. He and Elizabeth Medearis were married Nov. 3, 2005.

Bridges served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Jeff Bridges of Florida, Carl Bridges of England, Gaylon Bridges of Tamms, Ill., Jerry Bridges Jr. of Charleston, Mo., William Bridges of Boonville, Mo.; a daughter, Tammy Bridges of Tamms; a sister, Betty Betts of Tamms; a brother, the Rev. Tom Bridges of Bertrand, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Monahan officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, with military rites by a team comprised of area veterans groups sponsored by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891.
