Jerome Francis "Jerry" Amrhein, 72, of Scott City died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 15, 1933, at Cape Girardeau, the son of Joseph Anthony and Camille Caroline Kern Amrhein. He married Patricia Joan Schwartz on Jan. 19, 1952, at Cape Girardeau.
Jerry worked with his dad, Joseph Amrhein, at the Amrhein Drugstore in Illmo until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served on its finance committee. He served on the Notre Dame School Board.
He was very active in the Knights of Columbus. He was a third-degree member of Council 6420 in Scott City; he served as grand knight, financial secretary, church activities program director and district deputy. He was a fourth-degree member of Assembly 1111 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; his father of Cape Girardeau; a son, Brad (Karen) Amrhein of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; five daughters, Lisa (Jimmy) Gibbar, Terri (Joe) Prost and Camie (Jeff) Wulfers, all of Cape Girardeau, Valerie (Bill) Carroll of Chaffee, Mo., Tanya (Billy Jr.) Davis of Scott City; grandchildren Pam and Sarah Amrhein, Jaime (Matt) Martin, Jared Gibbar, John Carroll, Hannah and Logan Davis, Louisea and Bethany Raines, Emily (Jerry) Cleveland, Jeremy (Lindsey) Wulfers; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded by two brothers, David and Michael Amrhein.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will be at 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. David Coon at St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
