Jeremiah James "J.J." Hecht, 25, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born April 4, 1984, in Cape Girardeau, son of James L. and La-Rhonda Young Hecht.
J.J. attended Jackson High School. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells and was employed by Ashley Furniture in Jackson.
J.J. enjoyed the simple life, living in the country, spending time with small children, and he especially loved working on old cars. He could fix just about anything that was broken.
Loving survivors include a son, Jeremiah James Hecht II of San Antonio; his parents of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Kelli Hecht of Jackson and their daughter Emma; a sister, Jordan, of whom he was very fond; maternal grandmother, Doris Young of Jackson; and maternal great-grandmother, Pauline Stevens of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Buddy Young; paternal grandparents, Ellis and Dorothy Hecht; maternal great-grandfather, and paternal great-grandparents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be private.
