BELL CITY -- Jerald L. Adams, 57, of Bell City died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at his home. He was born March 2, 1942, at Limestone Valley, Ark., son of Leonard and Nina Bohannan Adams. BELL CITY -- Jerald L. Adams, 57, of Bell City died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at his home.

He was born March 2, 1942, at Limestone Valley, Ark., son of Leonard and Nina Bohannan Adams. He and Shelby DeJournett were married Dec. 5, 1964.

Adams had spent most of his life in Bell City where he was a carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Mark Adams of Puxico, Philip Adams of Flagstaff, Ariz., David Adams of Jackson and John Adams of Advance; two daughters, Sonja McLeary of Oran and Sara Adams of Bell City; his parents; four brothers, Harley Adams of Franklin, Ky., Carl Adams of Morehouse, Leo and Glen Adams, both of Marble Hill; a sister, Shelia Holloway of Cape Girardeau; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Revs. Doyle Stogsdill and Mike Triplett officiating. Burial will follow with full military rites in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
