JACKSON, Mo. -- Jennifer Elaine Stiegemeyer, age 19, passed away Wednesday, May 23, at Fruitland, Missouri, due to fatal injuries from a vehicle accident. Friends may call Tuesday, May 29, between 4-8 p.m., at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 30, at 10 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Friends may call after 9 a.m., Wednesday, at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the St. Paul Contemporary Music Fund or Building Fund.
Jennifer was born May 17, 1982, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jeff and Suzanne Lanzer Stiegemeyer. She was baptized July 11, 1982, at Lutheran Church of The Living Christ in Florissant, Mo.; and confirmed May 19, 1996, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she was a member.
Jennifer was a 2000 graduate of Jackson High School. During high school, she ran in cross country and played the flute. She was known for being "high on life and her friends." In the summer of 1999, she traveled to England and Ireland with the People to People Student Ambassador Program.
Jennifer had just completed her freshman year at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., where she was active in the Lutheran Student Fellowship. This past spring, she traveled to Texas on her spring break to participate in Lutheran Servant Events.
Loving survivors include her parents of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Angela Stiegemeyer of Jackson; two sisters, Laura and Sarah Stiegemeyer of the family home in Jackson; and paternal grandparents, Ed and JoAnn Stiegemeyer of Ballwin, Mo.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
