Jennie Raney

ANNA, Ill. -- Jennie Marie Raney, 88, of Anna died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at City Care Center in Anna.

She was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of Mack and Lily Warren Eads. She and George Prentice Raney were married Oct. 5, 1935, at Malden, Mo. He died Nov. 29, 1998.

Raney was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Anna.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorotha Reynolds of Anna, Linda Cook of Makanda, Ill., and Ann Upchurch of Carbondale, Ill.; a son, Jerry Raney of Carbondale; two brothers, Robert Eads of Cobden, Ill., and Richard Eads of Carbondale; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gospel Assembly Church. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The Revs. Dennis Fitzsimmons and Gaylen Holden will officiate, with burial in Anna City Cemetery.
