OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Graveside service for Jennie Louise Horton of Olive Branch was held Monday at National Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
Horton, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 26, 1919, at Auburn, daughter of Clarence Earl and Lela Henrietta Stewart Lowder. She and Jay M. Horton were married Aug. 27, 1942, at Hillsboro.
Horton was a member of the Baptist Church at Lowder.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Horton of Hoboken, Ga.; two daughters, Beverly Miller of Olive Branch, Leila Stokes of Waterloo; a brother, Norman Lowder of Bloomsdale, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, five brothers, and a sister.
