Jennie Chronister

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jennie Ruth Chronister, 72, of Charleston died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born Feb. 25, 1932, in Mississippi County, Mo., daughter of Walter and Martha Helen Scheffler McCormick. She and Johnnie Chronister were married Oct. 19, 1950.

Chronister had worked in the commissary at Brown Shoe Co. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church and was church treasurer many years.

Survivors include a son, Mark Chronister of Sikeston; a daughter, Deborah Byrne of Sikeston; two sisters, Helen Willard of Buchanan Dam, Texas, Betty Hodges of Festus, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

A eulogy service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Deborah Byrne officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, with Dolan Rogers officiating.
