If there were revving engines, you'd know you could find Jeffrey "Beaker" Curnell with a smile on his face and a kid-like excitement in his eye. A lover of machines that go fast and the smell of burning rubber, Beaker owned several classics of his own, but none as classic as he. Beaker was born Sept. 2, 1960, and passed away Friday, Aug, 20, 2021, at the age of 60.

Known as a lover, Beaker was a pillar in his community of Scott City, supporting it with 32 years of service as an emergency medical technician for North Scott County Ambulance. He touched more lives than can be imagined with his humor, compassion and kindness. To know him was to love him. His battle with cancer took a lot of things from him like his love for dipping a loaf of bread a day in a glass of milk, but it didn't touch his sense of humor, passion for cars and zest for life.

He loved God and his late wife, Tricia Curnell, who attended the First Baptist Church in Scott City. He will be missed by his sister, Barb (Sam) Herndon; nieces, Alaina (Dave) Hucke and Kyla (Matt) Ressel; great-niece and -nephew, Ella and Logan Ressel; brother-in-law, Tom (Tracey) Gilmer; nieces and nephews, Tommy, Timmy and Taylor Gilmer, and Chelsea Brockmire; great-nephews, Laythan Stone and Luke Brockmire.
