BENTON, Mo. — Jeffrey Richard Collins, 62, of Benton died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1960, in San Diego, to Richard Lee and Jessie Pauline Hitt Collins. He and Summer Helms were married May 11, 1985, in St. Louis.

Jeffrey was a graduate of Scott City High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

He was the owner and operator of Collins Lamp and Benton Furniture.

Survivors include his wife, Summer Collins of Benton; daughter, Jordan (Trey) Collins-Gosche of Benton; father, Richard (Betty) Collins of Scott City; sister, Teri (Robbie) Slusher of Jackson; grandchild, Trace Gosche; nephew, Todd (Priscilla) Kaufmann; and niece, Erika Kaufmann.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother and a niece, Amber Kaufmann.

The viewing will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 7, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
