ADVANCE -- Jefferson M. Slinkard Sr., 78, of Advance died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. ADVANCE -- Jefferson M. Slinkard Sr., 78, of Advance died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 8, 1918, at Lutesville, son of Marion Jerome Slinkard and Blanche V. Pair Slinkard

Slinkard was a farmer, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeff Slinkard Jr. and D.A. Slinkard of Advance; two brothers, Loy Slinkard of Fredericktown, Loren Slinkard of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Esther Walker of Marble Hill, Viola Kirkpatrick of Glen Allen, and Veda Jolly of Fair Oaks, Calif.

There is no visitation or funeral service.

Liley Funeral Home at Marble Hill was in charge of arrangements.
